Chapter 8, Escape

Dark Small Medium Large Original Scroll to Bottom

On ordinary days, although the large python, which is thicker than a person's waist, is terrifying, Hua Yi would not pay much attention to it. However, he knows that after the beastmen transform into beasts, their senses and features are many times stronger than in their human forms. He did not dare to even breathe loudly, let alone transform into a beast or fight with this creature

He still does not understand. Not only that, but the second brother has not yet informed Father and Mother about this matter, nor has he sought justice for Gu Cheng. Gu Cheng was only seven years old, and without uttering a single word, he was killed. Who can he turn to for reason?

However, at this moment, there was a complete silence around his tent, and not even a single shadow could be seen.

The large python quickly coiled around his body and neck

Hua Yi knows that it is going to strangle itself to death, and then swallow itself bit by bit

To gouge out the eyes is to express the concern of a murderer that the deceased may return to seek revenge, intending to make the soul flee and ensuring that they can never rise again

During the most perilous moment, Hua Yi inadvertently left a footprint, which led to his identification. With no way to escape, he had no choice but to revert to his human form and swiftly burrow into the den of a large python

The friendship that has grown over more than a decade, can it really be severed just because his father said he would marry a girl from the neighboring tribe to be his wife?

Hua Yi knew that those searching for his murderer had always been behind him. He hid and cowered, feeling extremely frightened, sometimes transforming into a human to hide, and at other times turning into a beast to flee.

Moreover, Hua Yi knew that his second brother, Jing Chu, was merely a sub-beast, yet he could rally such a large group of beastmen to serve him. This clearly indicated that he must possess even more formidable tactics. Hua Yi could not fathom what those tactics could be, and he understood that he was absolutely incapable of dealing with them.

Hua Yi felt that the stench of wolf urine was sufficient to mask his own scent, which allowed him to maintain his animalistic instincts and run out

If an individual of insufficient physical strength were to be a half-orc, I fear that being crushed by this serpent's corpse would leave them in a state of disarray.

At last, the giant snake could not withstand the fury of the young hunter. Its fatal seven-inch spot was pierced by Huayi's sharp nails. It thrashed and struggled violently for a while, then slumped down, hanging limply on his shoulder, capable of enveloping his entire body within it.

It seemed as if heaven was intent on targeting him, a drowning dog; unexpectedly, the large python was at home. He never anticipated that someone would be audacious enough to intrude into his lair, and immediately, it sinisterly flicked its tongue and coiled around Hua Yi

This young man is naturally gentle and kind-hearted, even somewhat overly compassionate, always worrying about the troubles of others. He is so out of place in the northern orc tribes, which typically value brutality and strength. He has always believed he is in the right, feeling that the bloodshed and conflict are utterly meaningless. He has always been able to tolerate the mockery and provocation from others to the greatest extent.

Hua Yi's vision was blurred, and he clenched his teeth tightly, refusing to let out a whimper, yet tears streamed down his face. His own second brother had gouged out the eyes of his third brother

After a brief moment of confusion in his mind, he became incredibly clear-headed. At this moment, there was only one thought in Hua Yi's mind—his second brother Jing Chu had gone mad, and he needed to inform his father and the other brothers

Fortunately, at this moment, the people who came to capture him had already left. Hua Yi crawled out from the snake's corpse, panting heavily as he sat on the ground. After gritting his teeth, he got back up, transformed into a beast, and continued to run forward desperately.

However, at this moment, he finally understood that he was the only one in the world who thought this way. But it was too late; he had already lost everything

Hua Yi, upon hearing these words, no longer dared to stay in place and thus ventured deeper into the forest

The place was brightly lit, with the corpses of giant beasts scattered everywhere. His second brother sat on the fur chair only when their father summoned the elders for a meeting, holding a string of beads made from an unknown material, resting his chin on his hand, his handsome face cast in shadow by the flickering firelight

After an unknown amount of time, Hua Yi finally mustered the courage to approach quietly and lifted a corner of the tent belonging to his third brother—there he saw the body of his third brother hanging inside the tent, with his eyes gouged out.

Hua Yi felt as if his bones were about to be constricted by a giant snake, yet he did not know despair, only anger

Then a portion of the orcs dispersed in an orderly manner, clearly to search for the traces of the little brother who had slipped through the net

He did not know how long this wolf's urine could mask his scent, but he was aware that despite his abilities, he was still just a little over fourteen years old, still a youth. In human form, it was not obvious, but after transforming into a beast, his size was clearly not comparable to that of fully grown giant beasts. He was absolutely no match for the large group of ruthless henchmen led by the second one.

Hua Yi's elder brothers have been adults for a long time and have set up their own tents. The recently adult third brother and he himself, although it is not ideal to live with their mother, are still permitted to reside near their parents. Hua Yi originally planned to carefully avoid people, yet as he approached the edge of his third brother's tent, he did not see the usual guard.

That moment was infinitely long and infinitely difficult

Through the branches and leaves at the entrance of the snake hole, Hua Yi saw that the orcs who wanted to kill him were searching for him just a short distance away

Hua Yi wiped away her tears fiercely and turned to run in the direction away from the tribe

He ran to the most dangerous and remote places, where the thorny brambles left numerous small wounds on his face and body. Soaked in sweat, they burned painfully, and this pain seemed to sharpen his mind. Four or five times, Hua Yi hid to the side, watching as those pursuing him nearly brushed past him.

However, the old wolf was astonished to find that this imposing uninvited guest showed no interest in its food. Instead, it rolled around in the wolf's urine, and its snow-white, seemingly luminous fur immediately dulled, dripping with yellow liquid, appearing both disgusting and comical.

Hua Yi gritted his teeth and unexpectedly caught the snake by its seven inches with his bare hands, and thus began a silent struggle between man and snake. The large snake sensed the strength of his grip and was even more unwilling to relent, exerting all its strength against his neck. Hua Yi's face turned a deep purple, as if the blood vessels were about to burst through his skin

The boy's heart sank to the bottom in an instant, and even his breathing began to tremble

He could not catch his breath, simply closing his eyes, desperately gripping the snake's head and body. Hairs involuntarily sprouted from his fingers, and his nails grew two inches, pressing down until his joints bent, digging into the hard scales of the great snake.

The third brother, being so arrogant, particularly enjoyed leveraging his identity as the leader's son to command a large group of people to stand guard for him, showcasing his status.

Isn't it good for everyone to work together with a united heart, to live well, and to happily coexist together

Hua Yi awaited those who were searching for him, while the giant serpent anticipated his last breath, neither willing to die first

Hua Yi's heart raced as he regained his human form. Taking advantage of the night, he swiftly sprang out from the bushes, using the tent to shield his figure. Before he could approach, he caught a strong whiff of blood.

Moreover, he is deep within the snake's den, so narrow that he cannot even turn his body.

He softly uttered something, and then the orcs crouching at his feet all howled to the sky in unison, as if the entire world trembled in response to their roars

The anger that he had never experienced in fourteen years erupted from his body all at once, his eyes wide with disbelief, gripping the snake's lifeline, veins bulging on his face, and his usually gentle and handsome features appeared grotesque—could even blood relatives turn against each other?

In this world, even a biological brother born of the same father cannot be trusted, as they all lurk nearby, waiting to stab him in the back. Who else can be trusted?

He has no time to cry, no time to sit in place and suffer

Hua Yi stumbled upon a large rock on the hillside where the third tent was located. He hid behind it and cautiously poked his head out. From this vantage point, he could just lower his head to see the tents of his leader, A Die, and those of the mothers below the hillside.

How is this possible

Hua Yi has finally embarked on his long journey of escape

He only has to escape for his life

Hua Yi plunged headlong into a wolf's den, and the old wolf hiding in the cave stood up, howling at him. In the blink of an eye, Hua Yi transformed into a giant beast with a completely snow-white body, emitting a low growl from his throat and revealing sharp fangs to the old wolf. Having lived in the jungle for a long time, the old wolf was well-versed in the ways of nature and the laws of the wild. Recognizing such a powerful opponent, he immediately tucked his tail and retreated to the side, not daring to confront his might.

A rolling wolf was crouched not far from the entrance of the snake den, intently watching this way. This creature was slightly larger than a rabbit and exclusively fed on the leftover carrion of others. It was quite cunning, having sensed the life-and-death struggle here before any other animal or human. It awaited a hearty meal, drooling with greed glistening in its green, eerie eyes.

He must live—his father, mother, and brothers have all died, and he is the only one left—Hua Yi ran desperately, he was the last one remaining, he must remember all of this, live for all of them, and seek justice for everything.
